Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs Bonus Post Graphing the Texans Training Camp Part 2

Welcome to another bonus in person graphing post. It rained most of the day Friday and Saturday so I didn't head back to training camp until Sunday. I arrived that morning just after practice started and walked around a bit then headed down to find my spot along the line. I didn't miss much Friday or Saturday only one player signed Friday and a few more Saturday. When I got to my spot I noticed a news camera crew standing close by and over heard the reporter say to the camera man be ready when they start doing autographs so that gave me hope that more would sign today. I watched the rest of practice and and waited for them to finish up and after they did twelve players came over and started signing down the line and hit as many as they could before the Texan security started yelling for them to wrap it up. It went pretty quick but I was able to get everyone that signed so it was definitely a better graphing day then my first day and the news camera got one of the players signing my multi picture and my autographs on camera so that's cool. I didn't catch the station name only channel 2. So if anyone see's my multi signed picture below on the news send me a link lol. After everyone finished signing I headed home. They have Monday off so I'll be headed back Tuesday. So until then enjoy a few pictures and my autographs from today's Texans training camp.

Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs #107

Welcome back for another weekly TTM success post. Friday was the two year anniversary of the very first Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs blog post. I just wanted to say thanks to all the other amazing TTM collectors that stop by every week to see our TTM successes. I love being able to share some of our collection and helping other collectors any time I can. Unfortunately it was a slow TTM week for us when our first and only return arrived on Saturday. After a quick eleven days to return we received both pictures back signed from Anatol Yusef via venue from "Hamlet" at the Public Theater in New York. Hopefully with the Texans training camp I can make up for the slow mail week and things go better than they did on my first day. Anyways that's it for this week. As always I'll be back next week with more TTM autographs and addresses and watch for special bonus in person graphing posts as we graph the Texans and Patriots training camps over the next two weeks.

Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs Bonus Post Graphing the Texans Training Camp part 1

Hello and welcome to a bonus in person graphing post. The Houston Texans came to town this week to start training camp at the Greenbrier Sporting Complex. Due to Winters check up at the dentist Wednesday we missed the first day of camp so I headed down Thursday for my first day. I arrived just as practice was getting started and found myself a great spot along the middle of the fence and watched the Texans practice. I ran into another local collector who attended yesterday's practice and said it wasn't a very good graphing day Wednesday because only Tom Savage, JJ Watt and two others came over and signed after practice. That got me a little worried but as practice was wrapping up we noticed the sharpie boy (the person who's job it is to give players sharpies to sign with then collect up afterwards) came out with a bag full of black sharpies so I thought surely more would sign today. Unfortunately that's not how it went. Out of the 86 players out on the field today only three came over to sign today. Out of those three only RaShaun Allen signed outside of the kids only section and he only signed for few others and luckily I was one of those few so I didn't have to go home empty handed. Alot of fans refused to leave after all the players went inside hoping others would come back out and sign but after the rain started coming down that ended all hopes of that happening. I really feel bad for the Texan fans that actually drove from Texas that walked away empty handed today. Oh well you can't win them all. It's supposed to storm all day Friday so I'll probably go back Saturday and hopefully things pick up a little. So until then enjoy a few pictures and my single lonely autograph from today's Texans training camp.

Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs #106

Welcome back to another weekly TTM success post. Sadly we lost two legends last weekend. First the amazing actor Martin Landau passed away at the age of 89. Then legendary horror film director George A. Romero passed away at the age of 77. Most remember him from his Zombie films "Night of the living Dead", "Dawn of the Dead", "Day of the Dead", "Land of the Dead", "Diary of the Dead" and "Survival of the Dead". Along with all the great zombie movies he also brought us horror films like "The Crazies", "Monkey Shines", "The Dark Half" and one of my favorites "Creepshow". His passing is a great loss and he will be missed by fans and horror lovers everywhere. So I see alot of the in person graphers using painters tape with instructions on how and where to sign on an item. I'm also seeing some TTM graphers using this technique on photos they send to get signed. I've never done this either in person or TTM. I'm usually just happy to get something signed and don't worry about if it's signed in the perfect spot. To me it just seems a little pushy to give instructions for when they sign TTM. Now if its a paid signing sure I can see it being ok. You're paying for a service but when requesting a free autograph TTM I'd rather just take what they give me and be happy I got something back in the first place. Possibly if I was working on a multi cast signed piece TTM this may be something I'd try to ensure they sign in the proper place to leave room for others to sign. Anyways now on to this weeks TTM successes. Monday brought one return. After just under a month we received our VHS box from "Star Trek II" back signed by Judson Scott. He also sent us three nice signed 8x10's and returned our SASE unused. Great addition to our Trek collection. I'm working on getting all the VHS covers from my old box set of all the original movies signed by one cast member then I'll display the lot. Tuesday brought a super cool success from David Tennant who signed the one "Dr. Who" photo we sent him and it only took two months to return. Friday brought one return when we received a nice pre signed 5x7 from Neil deGrasse Tyson after only two weeks. Saturday brought one last return for this week when Winter received a nice autopenned picture from Michael Jordan after just under a month. They also sent her some stickers, a bookmark and a few other things. Nothing actually signed but she's happy. That's all for this week. Have a great graphing weekend and I'll be back next week with more TTM autographs and addresses.

Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs Friday Favorites

Welcome back for another Friday Favorites. Every Friday we share a few of our favorite autographs from our collection. Some may be TTM favorites and some may be In Person or Purchased favorites but as always if it's a TTM favorite and the address is still valid I'll add that also. Since I was talking about those Dak autopen pulled cards on last weeks success post I thought I'd share a few of our favorite pulled signature cards this week and I didn't forget about the TTMers so the last ones not a pulled card but a TTM. So enjoy and I'll be back tomorrow with this weeks TTM success post with new autographs and tested addresses.

Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs #105

Welcome back to another weekly TTM success post. I guess by now most everyone has heard about the great Dak Prescott autopen mystery but for those of you that haven't. Some of the new Panini Prizm Dak Prescott autographed football cards the kind collectors love pulling from card packs or the ones they can get through redemption cards have reportedly been signed by an autopen machine. Now Dak and his management put out a statement saying they have no clue how this happened after Beckett Grading helped shed light on the problem and is currently refusing to authenticate them. So because of the autopen discovery Panini has now recalled the bad cards and is reissuing new signed cards. They even announced that they have extended the exclusive contract they had with Dak. This brings up something I've always thought about. Are those pulled autograph cards authentic? I have alot of autograph cards in my collection that I've either pulled from packs and hobby box's or purchased and like many other collectors just assumed that the signatures have to be 100% authentic. Right? I mean don't most come with a handy dandy COA from the card company printed right on the backs of the cards stating congratulations you just received an authentic autograph and usually states they were signed in the presence of a company representative or someone else? So how could autopen signatures get on the cards? Was it Dak's people? Was it Panini? Was it possibly a disgruntled Tony Romo fan with a grudge against Dak? lol, Probably not. Unfortunately we may never know but at least Panini is resolving the problem. This isn't the first time something like this has happened either. Along with autopen autographs I've also seen reports in the past that some celebs or athletes have had other people sign the cards for them and even some of those historical cuts autographs the ones with legends like Babe Ruth or former Presidents and historical figures have also had non authentic signatures like the Lindberg cut card not to long ago. Now I love to study signatures and I've compared my pulled signed cards with authentic examples usually as soon as I pull them or before I purchased one and luckily I have never had this problem but with card companies putting more and more signed cards out every year and the huge amounts of money being made I can see it becoming a huge problem in the future if left unchecked and hopefully card companies will crack down on the standards for how athletes and celebs sign the cards us fans and collectors spend big money for. Now on to this weeks TTM successes. Thursday brought the first and only return of the week when we received a nice signed 5x7 from Dire Straits bassist and legendary musician John Illsley and it only took twenty days after I sent a request on his website. That's all for this week I guess ones better than none lol. Have a great weekend and I'll be back next week with more TTM autographs and addresses.
