Welcome to another bonus in person graphing post. Our summer time graphing season wrapped up with a few last chances to get some autographs from some great musicians and bands after their concerts finished up. Normally It's only me standing out back trying for autographs and occasionally there will be one or two others just trying to take a few pictures as the musicians walk past. It's been a great spot for me to try for some ink over the years and sometimes it pays off and sometimes you walk away empty handed but even if you never get a chance to uncap your Sharpie you still get to see some amazing musicians up close. Our final in person graphing attemps of the year started on Thursday when we hung out backstage by the tour bus at the 38 Special concert watching the show and waiting for a chance to get founding member and lead singer Don Barnes to sign. After a great show Mr. Barns left the stage and walked our way while heading towards his bus and then he gladly stopped to sign Winters picture and called with us for a minute. He was super nice and it's pretty cool that he just happened to be Winters first ever concert backstage / tour bus autograph from the same venue and only a few feet away from the exact spot I started graphing musicians and bands at years ago as a kid when I was about the age she is now. Friday night was our very last chance to try and add a few more in person autographs to our collection until next summers graphing season starts. So we headed down to the WV State Fair concert stage and got our spot out backstage by the tour bus parking area and enjoyed the show. For the last big show of this years fair it was a concert featuring The Marshall Tucker Band, Charlie Daniels and Travis Tritt. We watched The Marshall Tucker Band put on a wonderful show and as they headed to their bus after the show. We were able to get four of the six members to sign our picture including lead singer Doug Gray who had no problem coming over to sign and chatted with us for a few seconds before he had to hop on his bus. After that it was time for Charlie Daniels and after the 81 year old music legend put on a killer concert he walked off stage and walked right by us just outside his tour bus. He had no problem signing our picture but he had his security man walkover to get our picture and Sharpie so he could sign it for us. Travis Tritt was wrapping the show up and went on last. His tour buses and the Simi truck that hauled his equipment were parked a good bit closer to the stage and not as close to us as I'd like it to be so I wasn't very hopeful that he'd actually sign from the start but we still had to give it a shot. After Tritt finished up for the night he walked off stage an vanished straight into his tour bus. We still waited until it was only 5 minutes away from the fair shutting down at midnight before we finally called it a night and headed home. Even though we didn't get Travis Tritt we got one even Better with Charlie Daniels so I can't complain and it was a fun night graphing with Winter and a great ending to our summer time graphing fun. So that's all for this year. So until next time keep your sharpies flowing and enjoy a few pictures and our autographs from graphing the State Fair of WV concerts.
