Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs #172

Welcome back for another weekly TTM success post. This week brings more troubling news from Washington that could greatly affect TTM collectors who send requests internationly. Earlier this week U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced Washington's plan to pull out of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in a year if the treaty isn't renegotiated. This comes from Washington's multi-level trade dispute with China that allows them to ship packages to the U.S. at discounted rates at the expense of American businesses. Pascal Clivaz the deputy director general of the UPU a 144 year old organization that's based in Switzerland told the associated press "It will have dramatic consequences for American consumers. They won't even be able to send a packages to a neighboring country. It's an accord that links everybody". Pulling out of the UPU would strip the U.S. from access to special codes needed to send and receive international mail. Hopefully Washington resolves it's trade issues with China before entering into negotiations of the UPU  treaty that would require a majority vote among its members before making any changes. So it might be a good time to go ahead and get those international TTM requests out just incase Washington, China and the UPU doesn't come to an agreement. Now on to this week's TTM successes. Tuesday started our week out with one via venue return from Taso Stravrakis who signed our two photos after we wrote him while he was doing a play in our area. A great addition to our Romero zombie film collection and it only took a month to get a return. To finish off our TTM week Thursday brought a super cool and quick 10 day return from Peter Coyote who signed our photo and DVD cover. That's all for this week. Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs #171

Welcome back for another weekly TTM success post. Hopefully everyone had a successful TTM week with mailboxes full of TTM returns. I'm sure by now most of you have noticed that when we post a return on here it doesn't always have the address we used. Instead you'll see either *FMB or *ST under out returns. We do that let you know what site we found the address on. Alot of the time the address comes from either fanmail.biz or startiger. Unfortuntly growing interests in TTM autograph collecting that's causing a major increase in the amount of fan mail being sent to celebs and fact that people selling TTM autographs on eBay and the ones that abuse the system are causing alot of celebs to no longer sign TTM.  I decided awhile back to no longer share private or home address's but I still point collectors in the right direction to find the address we used so real fans and collectors can still try. As most already know I'm always happy to help out collectors any way I can and if you have trouble finding an address I'm just a private message or email away. So don't worry when I don't post an address I'm not keeping them all to myself and I'm always willing to help anyone who share's our love of this amazing hobby. Anyways let's move on and get  to this week's TTM successes. Monday brought the first return of the week when we received both our Boardwalk Empire photos back signed by Bobby Cannavale after writing him while he's doing "The Lifespan of a Fact" in New York and it only took him nine days to return. After that Friday brought a cool return from K.C. and the Sunshine Band's very own K.C. also known as Harry Casey who signed both our photos and took just two weeks to return. To finish off the week Saturday brought one last return when we received our Star Trek photo back signed by the lovely D.C. Fontana after only ten days and she also included a nice thank you note. Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs #170

Welcome back for another weekly TTM success post. It might be a good time to stock up on USPS 50¢ forever stamps. It was recently announced that the United States Postal Service is proposing a 5¢ increase on the regular one ounce letter Forever stamps. This record increase would raise the cost up from 50¢ to 55¢ per stamp. Now I know a 5¢ increase doesn't seem like alot but remember serious TTM collectors tend to go through a ton of stamps each year mailing autograph requests out so that extra 5¢ per stamp can quickly add up. No word on when and if the price increase will actually take place because the increase has to be first approved by the postal regulatory commission but with the pressure from the White House and the fact that the USPS has reported major revenue losses over the past several years makes the possibility of a price increase more likely. So it's probably in our best interests as TTMers to start stocking up on USPS forever stamps before the increase actually happens. Now on to this week's TTM successes. Wednesday brought the first return of the week when we received a nice signed photo from the lovely Nancy Cartwright after only three weeks. Next Thursday arrived with another amazing success when we received both our photos back signed by Rebecca Romijn after just under a year and a half wait. To finish off the week Friday brought one last return when we received both photos back signed by Reba McEntire after a quick two weeks. That's all for this week. Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs #169

Welcome back for another weekly TTM success post. I sometimes see newer TTM collectors and some veteran collectors that only write a fan letter / autograph request letter and send that to a celeb but they don't include a photo to get signed or a SASE for them to return the item after it's been signed. I guess they hope or expect that the celebs will provide a signed photo and cover the cost of return postage. Sure some will do this but some don't. It's been my experience that sending a SASE with proper postage greatly increases the odds of getting a return. It's just so much easier for the celebs to sign the item and pop it in your SASE and then toss it in the mail. Without a SASE someone has to take the extra time getting an envelope ready to mail it out. Now that might not seem like alot of work preparing an envelope but keep in mind that more than likely they get a ton of requests and preparing return envelopes for even a fraction of all the fan mail they receive could be very time consuming and costly. So anything that makes it easier for whomever to sign and return our photos could mean the difference between an empty mailbox or one with a little TTM goodness that we all crave to see when we crack open our mailboxes. As for sending photo's or something to get signed I always include something. Usually it's photo but even if I know that they send there own signed or pre signed photos I still include an index card or two. For me personally I just feel better knowing I sent something instead of nothing when asking for a free autograph. Besides sometimes you get lucky and they'll sign the index cards as a bonus. This goes for the SASE also. I usually send one even if they don't require you to and alot of the time they'll return your unused SASE so you can still use it another day. So why not increase your chances of a successful TTM attempt by including a photo and SASE with all your attempts. Anyways now on to this week's TTM successes. Friday brought our one and only return this week when we received our photo that was previously signed by Richard Karn back signed by Tim Allen after only five weeks. That's all for this week.
