Welcome back for another weekly TTM success post. So I ran across an interesting story this week. A collector noticed a quick ten day return from former Vice President Joe Biden and decided to send their self proclaimed famous Bible that was already signed by numerous ex President's, Vice Presiden's, First Ladies and a few holy men to Mr. Biden to try and get him to sign it. They then did the smart thing and sent it with tracking so at least they knew if and when it arrived at the address they sent it to. Three months came and went and the Bible hadn't returned so they wrote Mr. Biden again inquiring about the Bible and how important it was to them with no reply. After one more month they wrote again sending a certified letter and again no response. At this point in the story the collector has got it in their mind that former Vice President Biden had decided to keep the famous signed Bible and the collector started looking for info to file a police report and how to contact the Postal inspector and Post Master General and to prepare for a lawsuit. During this process and five months after the Bible was sent it returned signed because the collector thought Biden may run for office again one day and didn't want a stolen Bible scandal. It could have been because he's busy and took longer to reply but hey who knows maby Biden liked the Bible lol. First off while I've occasionally thought that the mailman may be building a great autograph collection at my expense I've never once thought that the person I've sent something to be signed to actually stole my item. Second be patient just because someone gets a return in ten days doesn't mean yours will return that quickly. And thirdly but most importantly never ever send anything TTM you're not willing to loose. Especially when sending unsolicited mail to someon's private home address, it could just be tossed into the trash like junk mail. If you have a valuable or special item you want signed try just writing a letter asking if it's OK to send the item to be signed first then if you get an OK then send the item. This story made me laugh and hopefully it brings a smile to your face and we can all learn from someone else's mistake. So unfortunately it was a slow no mail week for us with no returns but I did find a great Chuck Yeager signed book at the thrift store. So that's all for this week have a great graphing weekend and I'll be back next week with more TTM autographs and address's.
