Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs #133

Welcome back for another weekly TTM success post. This week I thought I'd go over a few autograph collecting abbreviations that are commonly used. I don't know how many times I've been asked what TTM stands for so here's a few of the abbreviations you might run across in the autograph collecting hobby.
TTM - Through The Mail ( meaning the autographs are acquired by sending autograph requests the old fashioned way with a fan mail letter thru snail mail.)
IP - In Person (an In Person autograph success or experience, you obtained the autographs In person face to face with the celeb)
SASE - Self Addressed Stamped Envelope (the envelope you send with your request for the celebs to return your items after they sign)
VV - Via Venue (obtaining autographs by sending to the film / show set or to the theatre or music venue)
RTS - Return To Sender (the last thing you want to see stamped on your TTM autograph requests. Your request was returned to you because the address isn't valid or it was refused)
AP - AutoPen (a machine that produces facsimile autographs for celebs that are to busy or don't really care about their fans)
SS or SEC - Secretarial Signature (signed by the celebs secretary, personal assistant or family member for celebs who care slightly more than the ones who use AP's)
DS - Document Signed (this could be a endorsed check or a signed contract, ect.)
TLS - Typed Letter Signed (exactly what it sounds like an all typed letter that's signed)
LS - Letter Signed (a handwritten letter but written by someone else like a secretary and then signed by the celeb)
ALS - All Letter Signed (this is the holy grail to some. Its a handwritten letter by the celeb and also signed by them)
ANS - Autographed Note Signed (similar to the ALS only in note form and not a full letter.)
HOF - Hall Of Fame (do I really need to explain HOF)
PSP or PS - Pre Signed Photo (a photo already Pre Signed by the celebs that are sent to fans who request autographs TTM)
PP - Pre Print (a photo with a facsimile printed autograph)
TPA- Third Party Authenticator ( a company that have "Experts" that compare autographs that are presented or sent to them for comparison with known authentic examples to determine if the autographs are actually authentic or fake for a fee. PSA, JSA and Beckett are the three big trusted companies just remember anyone can make a mistake)
PSA or PSA/DNA - Professional Sports Authenticator (a third party authentication company that is supposed to insure authenticity. Also see TPA)
JSA - James Spence Authentication ( another third party authentication company. Also see TPA)
I hope this helps and you'll know what they mean next time you run across one of these abbreviations. Now on to this weeks TTM successes. Monday brought a great via venue success for Uma Thurman after only three weeks we received both our pictures back signed from her play at the Hudson Theatre in New York. That's all for this week. Have a great graphing weekend and I'll be back next week with more TTM autographs and address's.
