Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs #101

Welcome back for another weekly TTM success post. I'm always looking at autographs while browsing the numerous autograph collecting blogs, forums, address sites and the many facebook autograph group's out there. It's a great way to see who's signing and I love seeing what others are collecting and how the different celebs sign. Sadly I also see a growing number of celebs and athletes giving quick crappy squiggly lines as an autograph. It seems like the days of celebs taking pride in their signature may be coming to an end. Not all sign with squiggly lines and I can understand the hectic in person scene with hundreds of people screaming for an autograph so they just fly down the line signing a few squiggles or if you're really lucky you get a set of initials along with your squiggles. I understand it but I still don't like it. That's one reason I love TTM collecting. Sure you still get some that give horrible quick signatures but most of the time you get a beautifully signed legible autograph. The celebs not rushed like they are signing in person. I look at the the old vintage Hollywood movie stars and long gone legendary sports Hall of Famers who took pride in signing and always gave wonderful autographs over the years that are still highly sought after by fans and collectors today. Sure some current celebs and athletes still give great autographs and take pride in signing, but sadly it's a dying art and a chore to others who just want to sign and get it over with as quickly as possible. Don't even get me started on private signings. Even after fans pay top dollar some celebs still give quick horrible signatures and have sometimes ruined good pieces. Anyways we can always hope for a nice full signature and gladly take whatever ink we can get. Now on to this weeks TTM successes. Friday brought one return. After just under two months we received both pictures we sent to country music legend Roy Clark back signed. Saturday brought two more returns. First after only ten days we received both pictures we sent and one extra signed photo from Kim Basinger. To finish off the week we received one of the two photos we sent back signed from Shirley MacLaine and they sent two other signed 5x7's but are more than likely secretarial signatures and it took three months for them to return. That's it for this week. Have a great graphing weekend and I'll be back next week with more TTM autographs and addresses. Unfortunately we just learned the Saints won't be back this year for training camp but the Texans are coming this year and as an added bonus the Patriots are coming for two days to play Texas in August. So with that and the PGA Greenbrier Classic coming up July 4th week our summer is looking good.
