Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs #90

-
Welcome back to another weekly TTM success post. Why do we collect autographs? What is it that makes people want to spend alot of time and a bunch of money obtaining signatures on little pieces of paper either In Person or TTM? For some its purely for profit. For others it's about nostalgia. They want a memento from one of their hero's or idols. Some want to own a piece of history through the signatures of the people that created it. Then there's one's who do it because they truly love this hobby. They spend hours researching, studying signatures and signing habbits, they travel all over the world and stand out in all kinds of weather battling security just to wait for chance meeting with a celeb and remember it's never a sure thing. Sometimes after all the work they still get the brush off and walk away empty handed. If its a diehard TTMer they put in a ton of time and money also. Usually they start as kids and do it for the joy and excitement it brings and it carries on into adulthood. They've been bitten by the graphing bug and they're in it for life. Sure they might take the occasional break but they almost always come back to the hobby. I have always heard of gold fever but something even worse than that may be ink fever. It just takes that first In person or TTM success and you're hooked for life. Anyways on to this weeks successes. Monday brought one amazing return to start the week off. After just under three months we received a pre signed picture back from legendary composer John Williams. Friday brought two very cool returns. First after just under two months we received our index card and autograph card back signed by one of our favorite authors Beverly Cleary who will be 101 years young the 12th of April. To finish off the day we received both pictures back signed by legendary musician Charlie Daniels. I tried to get him in person last summer after a concert but unfortunately he just waved at me and the two others trying to graph before he darted into his tour bus so it's great to finally get him in our collection and it took just under four months for him to return. That's it for this week. Have a great graphing weekend and I'll be back next week with more TTM autographs and addresses.
