Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs #72

-
Welcome back for another weekly TTM success post. Sadly we lost Florence Henderson this week. She was amazing to all her fans who loved her as much as she loved them. She was also a very responsive signer over the years both in person and TTM she took the time to sign for anyone who asked and will be greatly missed. So I see a lot of TTM websites talking about collecting autographs TTM for free. Sure you can get autographs TTM from celebs that normally charge at conventions but don't charge TTM (some still charge TTM ) while others don't charge a cent to sign but this doesn't necessarily mean its free. TTM collectors can spend thousands of dollars a year trying to acquire autographs. Everything from stamps and envelopes to printing pictures and paper costs money. Since we send 4x6 pictures it costs us a total of $1.80 per TTM attempt here in the US ($2.50 for overseas attempts). That covers sending two pictures, the fan letter, the outgoing stamped envelope and our SASE. We started out sending 8x10's but it was costing to much for something that's never a sure thing so we went with the smaller pictures. It was costing just under $5 to print an 8x10 compared to $0.32 for a 4x6 plus add the extra expenses for larger envelopes, backing boards and more postage for larger photos and it all starts adding up. By using smaller pictures we can use cheaper smaller sized envelopes and less postage per attempt and since we're not dealers 4x6's are fine for us. So TTM autograph collecting isn't free but for what you can possibly get in return its money well spent in my opinion. Now for this weeks successes. Due to the holliday this week it was a slow week for us but Monday brought a great return. After several attempts over the years we finally received a success from Bruce Dern. He signed both pictures we sent and it took just over seven months for them to return. Monday also brought the standard rejection letter from Stephen King after Winter tried him a couple weeks ago with a nice long letter but it didn't do her any good. Its what we expect but she still had to try. Saturday brought one last return for the week when we received both pictures back signed by Craig T. Nelson. Great success and it took just over seven months to return. That's it for this week. Have a great weekend and I'll be back next week with more TTM autographs and addresses.
