Welcome back for another weekly TTM success post. This week I wanted to talk about a problem IV been having. Every once in awhile I get a return with a smudged signature. Now some aren't that bad the celebs just didn't let the ink dry before they stuck them back into the SASE and the autographs got a little messed up. Others have returned so smudged that they are ruined and in some cases the inks still wet and smearing when we get them back. Now IV gotten alot of TTM returns and 99.9% are just fine but IV noticed that the celebs who have returned with smudged autographs are mostly the more aged celebs that have signed with something other than a sharpie. I guess to remedy this I could send a new sharpie with my requests or I could start going old school and send index cards instead of pictures. IV tried printing the satin prints instead of the glossy photos and I have tested various markers and pens on photos just to see how they dry and how the ink takes to the photos for my IP attempts. It doesn't take long for sharpies to dry even the cheap sharpies dry pretty fast so I think the problem lies in the older celebs writing instrument but even a cheap marker should work on an index card and hopefully stop my smudging problem with my older celebs TTM returns. Just to be safe from now on I'm going to send a picture and an index card for those requests. The only thing worse than a return coming back marked RTS is one that has returned but has been ruined by smudging ink. Oh well it happens sometimes and usually if you write again and explain what happened most are willing to sign again. Anyways now on to this weeks successes. Monday was a federal holiday here in the U.S. so our TTM week started on Tuesday with three returns. First we received our DVD cover of "Shaun of the Dead" back signed by Nick Frost. We've tried several times to get him by sending to the UK with nothing ever coming back but this time we tried VV here in the states and it worked so super happy to finally get a reply and it only took him just over a month to return. Next after two other attempts that never came back we finally received both pictures we sent to Adrienne Barbeau back signed and it took just over four months to return. To finish off the day we received our picture back signed but badly smudged from Abbe Lane. She only signed one but it was pretty messed up by the time it came back to us. Oh well I guess ill retry and send an index card it took her just under four months to return. Thursday brought one of our most wanted when after a quick nine day wait we received both pictures back signed by JoBeth Williams. Poltergeist is one of our top favorite horror films and IV been trying to get her for years. She's here in town filming a movie for a couple weeks so we have been trying to get her IP but with no luck so far but just incase we missed her IP I sent to her via venue TTM when they started filming here and she replied and she also sent us a cool signed thank you note on the back of a script page. To finish off the week Saturday brought two more returns. First after only ten days we received both pictures back signed from Bob Singer who has worked on so many of our favorite cartoons over the years. He even sent us a signed thank you note with a sketch of Scooby on an index card. To finish off the day a fast seven day wait for one of our favorite authors to reply. Dean Koontz signed our index card and he also sent us a nice signed 8x10 and signed letter explaining why he didn't sign our picture because the only light area to sign was on his face and that he's sending one of his own. Great return from an amazing author. That's it for this week. Have a great weekend and I'll be back next week with more TTM autograph collecting goodness.
