Gene Wilder
1933-2016

Hello and welcome back to another weekly TTM success post. Sadly this week we lost a truly one of a kind legendary actor and comedian when Gene Wilder passed away Monday at the age of 83. Growing up in the 70's and 80's he was the source of so much joy and laughter for me through films like "Blazing Saddles" , "Young Frankenstein", "Stir Crazy" and of course his role as the original and in my opinion the one and only Willy Wonka. There will never be another like him. A true comedy genius that will be greatly missed. Unfortunately less than an hour after the AP announced his death the over charging death vultures had a bunch of Genes autographs up for sell for around $400 on ebay. I was expecting this to happen it always does when someone famous dies. Word of advise if a celeb passes away and you just have to have an autograph and decide to purchase one don't do it immediately after they die. The prices skyrocket at first but if you just wait a month or so the prices will lower back down to a more reasonable one. His death has also caused the forgers to start slipping there fake pieces onto the market so do your research if you plan on purchasing him in the future. Get opinions from other collectors and compare them to as many authentic examples you can find even if it comes authenticated by a reputable 3rd party authenticator everyone makes mistakes so just do your research before purchasing. Now for this weeks TTM successes. Thursday brought the first return of the week when I received my "Dawn of the Dead" DVD cover back signed by Gaylen Ross. Super cool success. The cover was already signed by composer John Harrison and it only took her five weeks to reply. I also received my Mike Tyson autographed Punch Out 8x10 I ordered. Not really a TTM success but it did arrive in the mail. I purchased it from Fiterman Sports during a recent blowout sale they had on the photos and signed gloves and they already came with JSA authentication. The sale is over but I'll add the link below for those that are interested. They sell a wide range of sports autographs. Friday brought three more returns. First after only two weeks we received both pictures back signed from Clint Howard. Super amazing success and a great addition to our Trek collection plus he's been in so many other amazing shows and films over the years. Next our Bluray cover from "The Secret life of Walter Mitty" returned signed from Patton Oswalt and in just under two months to return. To finish off the day we received both pictures back signed from Jonathan Banks. He signed the pictures we sent but he messed up and personalized them to Nick and not us lol oh well at least they returned and it took about seven months for them to come back. That's it for this week. Have a safe Holliday weekend and remember here in the US Monday is a federal holiday so no mail that day. Ill be back next week with more TTM autograph collecting goodness.
