Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs Special Graphing The Saints Bonus Post #7

-

Welcome back for another special In Person Graphing bonus post. The New Orleans Saints returned to West Virginia this weekend for the last few days of training camp. They had a late practice Saturday that was supposed to start at 3:30 but was pushed due to a thunderstorm passing through, that and Saturdays are big media days and most players don't have time to sign that day because of interviews so we decided to go Sunday. We arrived about halfway through practice Sunday and got to our usual spots and watched the rest of practice. A new addition to today's practice was a huge speaker blaring loud crowd noises to simulate the roar of the stadium crowd during a game. You couldn't have asked for a better day to graph. The weather was perfect with a slight breeze to keep the heat down while we waited for them to finish up. Right before they finished a junior high football team went onto the field to meet some of the players. While this was going on the players that signed today started to come over. It wasn't alot signing today because most went over to the school team but we still managed to get some autographs. I worked on more pictures and Winter started on a football today. We got all the players that signed and #16 Brandon Coleman gave Winter the sweatband off his wrist. That made her happy she's been trying to get one the entire time. As the players finished up signing head coach Sean Payton started walking towards the signing line. Everyone started yelling for him but I didn't expect him to come over because he's avoided signing autographs since he's been here. That wasn't the case today though, to my surprise and everyone else's he came right over in front of me and started signing autographs and then proceed to sign for the entire line. Wow everyone went crazy, one guy next to me has been trying to get him for 10 years at training camps so he was over joyed to finally get him. I thought the craziness over Brees signing autographs was bad but the people trying to get Payton was so much worse. His signing caused a frenzy all down the line as people pushed and shoved to get closer to the barrier and Coach Payton. I don't see why he literally took time to sign anything but said if you want a picture with him you'd better get it on the go because he wasn't stopping and posing as he kept happily signing and chatting away. After that madness passed we watched a fun QB challenge. As one QB took a baseball bat and hit tennis balls up into the air doing a home run Derby type game the other two QB's tried to pick the tennis ball out of the air by throwing and hitting it with a football. Grayson and McCown smashed the tennis balls out of the field like pros but poor old lefty Drew Brees had a hard time hitting the balls and got a little frustrated at the end that culminated in a failed attempt to break the bat over his leg. It was definitely worth seeing. After that all three came over and signed down the line. Brees and McCown signed for everyone as Grayson hit a few people here and there working his way to the kids section then signed for all of them. We had another great graphing day with a total of 18 autographs three of which are Drew Brees and two of Coach Payton so not bad at all. It looks like rain all day Monday but hopefully not and Wednesday is the last day and those are usually super special graphing days and we won't miss that one. So until then enjoy a few more pictures and our autographs from today's New Orleans Saints Training camp here in beautiful West Virginia.

Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs #57

-
Welcome back to another weekly TTM success post. The Saints are back this weekend for the last few days of training camp so you know what we're doing. We've had a great time and along with all the autographs we have managed to get we've also met alot of other great graphers out enjoying the thing we all love doing. Its been great seeing other collectors helping people get autographs instead of seeing them as competition. Giving cards and sharpies to fans who had nothing to get signed. Sure you always get a few rude collectors and the ones who push and shove in a crowd but for the most part everyone had a great time and I hate to see it coming to an end, but the memories and the autographs will remind us what a great time we had for the rest of our lives and isn't that what this hobby is all about having fun and collecting autographs and great memories. Anyways on to this weeks TTM successes. Monday brought four returns two Pre Print Simi successes and two actual successes. First a PP from Daniel Day Lewis and a couple PP's from The Pope. Kind of what I expected from both but I had to try. The first real success was from David Naughton. Growing up " An American Werewolf In London" was and still is one of my top all time favorite horror films and its great to finally add him to our collection and only took four months to return. To finish off the day we received another great addition to my Star Trek collection when after only six days we received both pictures back signed by Barbara Baldavin. Thursday brought two more returns. First after only seven days we received all three pictures we sent to Lloyd Kaufman back signed. He also sent a signed picture of him and The Toxic Avenger and a signed Buisness card. Super cool success. I have loved all the crazy Troma films ever since I was a kid. To finish off the day we received both pictures back signed by Amanda Seyfried. She's great to her fans and Winter loved her in "Ted 2". Great success and it took nine and a half months to return. That's it for this week. Have a safe weekend and ill be back next week with more TTM autographs and addresses.

Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs Friday Favorites

-
Welcome back for another Friday Favorites. Every Friday we share a few of our favorite autographs from our amazing collection. They can be TTM, IP or purchased favorites and as always if its a TTM favorite and the address is still valid I'll add that to. This week its a few of our favorite signed books. I love autographed books its a great way to combine a couple of my favorite things to do, Graphing and reading. Here's a tip if you send a book to get signed TTM here in the U.S. send it by Media Mail. It's alot cheaper than sending a package, it's just under $4 compared to $8+ to send it with regular postage and it's tracked. It is a little slower taking about 7 days to be delivered instead of the normal 3 to 4 days. I send my books in the thicker bubble mailers with cardboard for protection and I add another bubble mailer for the return. What I do for the return SASE'd mailer is I write Media Mail in medium red letters on my SASE with $4 worth of postage already on it. That way when they send it back the Post Office will see its Media Mail and track it. I hope that helps and now enjoy the favorites and ill be back tomorrow with this weeks TTM successes with new autographs and tested addresses.

Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs Special Bonus Graphing The Saints #6

-

Welcome back for another special In Person Graphing the New Orleans Saints training camp bonus post. They canceled Sunday's practice leaving alot of fans in a very unhappy mood after seeing the Facebook and Twitter posts about the cancellation but then they posted a picture of Brees practicing Sunday and people got upset. No big deal for us we live here but alot traveled for hours and spent money on hotel rooms to attend this weekend, but luckily for us they added an open practice Monday to make up for it. So we headed back Monday for one more day of graphing the Saints before they head off to play the Patriots. We arrived towards the end of practice because it looked like a storm was coming and we didn't want to get everything soaked. We couldn't have timed it any better because when we got through security and went to get a spot along the line the team was just finishing up with practice. We had no problem finding a spot along the signing line today because the crowd was the smallest IV seen so far. Winter headed up to the kids section and I found my usual spot just outside of it and got my pictures and cards ready and just in time because as soon as I pulled out the sharpies almost the entire team walked over and started signing autographs. Wow great guys and everyone was so excited. I'm not sure if they felt bad about cancelling Sunday's practice or if it was just the really low number of fans lined up wanting autographs. Either way it was so much fun but a little to quick. They all worked down the line signing autographs and taking the occasional picture. The entire signing took maby 10 minutes then Drew Brees and the other Quarterbacks Garrett Grayson and Luke McCown came over and started signing for anyone that wanted one. I finished my picture of the three together and got football cards signed by Grayson and James Laurinaitis and a really nice multi signed 5x7. Winter had just as much luck as I did by getting her picture of her and Brees together that we took earlier during the week signed by Drew. She also got a picture signed by a couple players and a bunch of autograph cards sign. I had to laugh they signed so fast that she was having trouble keeping up but she hung in there and didn't miss a single player. I'm so glad we can enjoy this great hobby together and she makes sure I know that her Saints autographs that she got this week go into her book and not mine lol. All in all it was a great day a bit fast but still an amazing graphing day with 39 autographs today for a grand total of 169 Saints autographs with 10 of those being Winters favorite player Drew Brees. The team is headed out to play the Patriots Thursday but if everything goes as scheduled they'll return here to West Virginia next weekend for four more days. So until then have a great day and enjoy a few pictures from today and our autographs from the Saints.

Cpt. Caveman's TTM Autographs Special Bonus Graphing The Saints Part 5

-

Welcome back to another bonus In Person Graphing post. We missed the Saints training camp Friday because of the weather and work but headed back out Saturday do some more IP graphing. The weather was perfect today and that along with it being a Saturday brought alot of people out to see the Saints. When we got to the sports complex it was already packed along the signing line so Winter got her stuff ready and headed to the kids section. I found my spot down towards the entrance to the kids zone and watched the team practice and talked with a few other graphers while we waited for them to finish up. Once practice wrapped up the players signing today walked over and started working their way down the line. Unfortunately not alot signed today but we still managed 16 autographs between the two of us. After the regular players finished signing it was time for the Quarterbacks to sign. Well McCown went down past all the kids and signed a few for people not in the line and went inside. He didn't even hit the kids section. Next Garrett Grayson came over and signed for everyone he's a really nice guy. After he finished up Brees ran down and went into the media tent for interview's. Everyone was waiting on Drew to come back out and when he did he stopped and talked to more media before finally heading inside the building leaving alot of disappointed children and fans screaming his name. So no Brees today but we still had a great time getting other autographs and we still have tomorrow to try and add Brees and McCown to my picture of the three QB's together and Winter want's Drew to sign the picture of him and her together. The Saints are headed out to play the Patriots next week and are leaving here Monday but they're coming back on August 13th. So that will give us a few days to dig out some more card and print more pictures out to get signed when they return. Hopefully if all goes well tomorrow ill be back with another IP graphing bonus post. So until then have a great weekend and enjoy a few pictures from today's training camp and the autographs we got from graphing The New Orleans Saints.
